Community Information and Capacity Building

Through our work with clients SMECC identifies issues of interest and need where more information or training is required to help our new community members with their settlement in Australia.

SMECC then works with other services to develop information sessions or other activities for our clients to help improve their understanding and skills.

This can cover a huge range of topics.  In the past year some have included: How to vote, water safety, first aid, food handling, child safe products and child seats, fines & infringements, land care, energy efficiency/ money saving, citizenship test preparation, children's services.  These activities are sometimes run at SMECC, and other times outside with other agencies and community events.
